Stage 1: software only

  • Healthy engine with up-to-date service history
  • Clean air filter & fresh oil
  • No warning lights on dash

Stage 2: hardware + software

  • High-flow downpipe or sports cat
  • Free-flow intake and upgraded intercooler
  • Stronger clutch (manual) or TCU tune (DSG)
  • Wideband boost and AFR logging recommended
