What is AdBlue repair?

AdBlue repair means finding and fixing the actual component that's causing your warning light — not just clearing the code and hoping it doesn't come back. Whether it's a failed NOx sensor, a blocked AdBlue injector, a faulty dosing pump, or an SCR catalyst fault, we identify the root cause and carry out the correct repair. The result: warning lights cleared, vehicle road-legal, and ready to pass an MOT.

What we do

Diagnose. Repair. Confirm.

We read all SCR and NOx-related fault data, trace the fault to its source, replace or repair the failing component, and confirm the system is working correctly before we leave.

No guessing. No clearing codes and hoping. The fault gets fixed.

Road-legal and MOT compliant. AdBlue repair keeps your vehicle within UK emissions law. If you need to pass an MOT, use the vehicle commercially, or want a long-term solution that meets road regulations, repair is the right route.

Common AdBlue repairs we carry out

The most frequent faults we see and what the fix involves.

Most common fault

NOx sensor replacement

Upstream or downstream NOx sensors fail regularly on high-mileage diesels. Fault codes P20EE, P20E8, and P204F are typical signs. We replace with the correct sensor for your vehicle and clear all related codes.

Dosing system

AdBlue pump & injector

A blocked or failed AdBlue injector stops the SCR system from dosing correctly, triggering persistent warnings. We diagnose whether it's the pump, injector, or supply line and carry out the right repair.

Control unit

AdBlue dosing module

The dosing control module regulates how much AdBlue is injected into the exhaust. When it fails, warnings won't clear even after sensor replacement. We test and replace where needed.

Catalyst

SCR catalyst diagnosis

An ageing or contaminated SCR catalyst can cause the system to report poor NOx conversion efficiency. We carry out catalyst efficiency tests before recommending a replacement — it's often not the catalyst at fault.

Tank & level

AdBlue tank & level sensor

Level sensor failures cause incorrect low-AdBlue warnings even when the tank is full. Tank cracks or contamination can also prevent the system from operating correctly. We check both.

Full check

SCR system health check

Not sure what's wrong? We run a full AdBlue and SCR diagnostic — reading live data, testing components, and giving you a clear picture of what needs fixing and what doesn't.

How the repair service works

Clear steps, no surprises — whether you come to us or we come to you.

  • We run a full diagnostic scan. We read all SCR and NOx-related fault codes and map out exactly what the system is reporting before touching anything.
  • We trace the root cause. Fault codes point to a system, not always a specific part. We test components individually to identify what has actually failed.
  • We carry out the repair. Whether it's a NOx sensor, dosing module, pump, injector, or level sensor — we fit the correct part and carry out the repair properly.
  • We clear all fault codes. Once the repair is complete, all related codes are cleared and the system is tested to confirm it's operating correctly.
  • We confirm road-ready before we leave. The vehicle is started, driven where possible, and we verify the AdBlue warning has gone and the system is healthy.

Why drivers choose Pro Remapping for AdBlue repair

Practical reasons that matter when your vehicle is off the road or counting down.

Root cause, not code clears

We find and fix what's actually failing. Simply clearing the fault code and resetting the warning is not a repair — the light will return. We trace the fault to the component and fix it properly.

AdBlue repair — common questions

Quick answers before you book.

Is AdBlue repair legal for UK road use?

Yes — fully. AdBlue repair restores the SCR system to correct working order, keeping your vehicle within UK emissions regulations. A properly repaired AdBlue system will pass an MOT. It is the road-legal route for vehicles that need to remain in daily use on public roads.

What's the difference between AdBlue repair and a delete?

Repair fixes the failing component so the AdBlue system works correctly again — road-legal and MOT compliant. A delete removes AdBlue system logic from the ECU entirely and is intended for off-road, agricultural, motorsport, or export applications. If you are unsure which is right for your situation, call us and we will talk it through honestly.

Do you offer mobile visits for AdBlue repairs?

Yes. Mobile service is available for most AdBlue repair jobs across Staffordshire and the Midlands. We come to your home, workplace, or depot. Call or message us to confirm availability for your location and we will get you booked in.

How long does an AdBlue repair take?

Most repairs are completed within 60–90 minutes on site or in the garage. Timing depends on the vehicle, the fault type, and whether parts are needed. Same-day appointments are available — call to check what we can fit in.

What makes and models do you work on?

We carry out AdBlue repairs on a wide range of diesel cars and vans including Ford Transit, VW Crafter, Mercedes Sprinter, Vauxhall Vivaro, BMW, Audi, Peugeot, Citroën, Renault, Nissan, and more. If you are unsure, get in touch with your make, model, and year.

Will my vehicle pass an MOT after AdBlue repair?

In most cases, yes — provided the repair has resolved the underlying fault and the SCR system is operating correctly. MOT testers check for emissions compliance and a functioning AdBlue system. A properly repaired system meets those requirements. We confirm everything is working correctly before we consider the job complete.
