What’s included in a car service?

A service keeps your engine healthy, your vehicle reliable and its history intact. An interim service covers the essentials — engine oil and oil filter, fluid top-ups and a safety check — ideal between full services or for higher-mileage cars. A full service adds more filters (air, fuel and cabin as due) and a deeper multi-point inspection of brakes, tyres, suspension, steering and lights, finished with a diagnostic scan.

Interim service

The essentials, regularly

Engine oil and oil filter change, fluid top-ups and a core safety check. Ideal between full services or for cars covering higher mileage.

Full service

A thorough once-over

Everything in the interim service plus air, fuel and cabin filters as due, and a deeper inspection of brakes, tyres, suspension, steering and lights.

How our car service works

Straightforward, honest servicing at our Hanley workshop.

  • Book & drop off. Choose interim or full and drop the vehicle in — same-day slots are usually available.
  • Oil & filter change. Fresh oil to the correct grade and a new oil filter, with other filters replaced as due on a full service.
  • Full multi-point inspection. We check brakes, tyres, suspension, steering, lights, fluids and battery, and scan for stored faults.
  • Report & honest advice. We tell you what is fine, what to keep an eye on and what genuinely needs doing — no upsell.
Servicing protects your engine — and your remap. Regular servicing keeps your engine healthy and is especially important on diesels that do short trips, or if you have had a remap. Staying on top of it helps prevent EGR and DPF problems before they start.

Why regular servicing matters

A little maintenance now saves a lot later.

Reliability

Fresh oil and filters and a regular health check keep your vehicle dependable and reduce the chance of being caught out by a breakdown.

Resale value & history

A maintained service history protects your vehicle’s value and reassures future buyers that it has been looked after.

Catch problems early

A multi-point inspection spots worn brakes, tyres and leaks early — cheaper to fix before they become a bigger job or an MOT fail.

Car service — common questions

Quick answers before you book.

What is the difference between an interim and a full service?

An interim service covers the essentials — engine oil, oil filter, fluid top-ups and a core safety check. A full service adds air, fuel and cabin filters as due and a deeper multi-point inspection. We will advise which suits your mileage and vehicle.

How often should I service my car?

As a guide, an interim service every six months or 6,000 miles and a full service every 12 months or 12,000 miles works well for most vehicles — but always follow your manufacturer’s schedule. Short-trip diesels benefit from staying on top of it.

Do you do MOTs?

We carry out servicing and full pre-MOT checks to give your vehicle the best chance of passing first time, and we will flag anything that needs putting right. Ask us about MOT preparation when you book.

Will servicing protect my warranty and remap?

Keeping to a regular service schedule helps protect a manufacturer warranty and keeps a remapped or hard-working engine healthy. We keep clear records of the work carried out.

How much does a car service cost?

It depends on whether you choose interim or full and on your vehicle, so we give you a clear quote before any work. Call or message us with your make, model and year.
