AdBlue Removal
Staffordshire & the Midlands
Off-road vehicles, agricultural machinery, plant equipment, and motorsport builds — we carry out full AdBlue system removal, taking out the tank, pump, dosing injector, sensors, and associated wiring, combined with a matching ECU software delete. Mobile across Staffordshire and the Midlands, plus in-garage at our Hanley workshop.
What is AdBlue removal?
AdBlue removal is the complete physical strip-out of the AdBlue system — the tank, dosing pump, injector, NOx sensors, SCR catalyst (where specified), and associated pipework and wiring — paired with an ECU software delete so the vehicle doesn't report missing components. Unlike a software-only delete, full removal means no unused hardware remains on the vehicle.
Physical removal + software delete
A software-only delete removes the AdBlue logic from the ECU but leaves all the hardware in place. Full removal takes out the components entirely and pairs that with the ECU delete — a cleaner, more permanent result with no dead weight on the vehicle.
Ideal for agricultural machinery, plant equipment, motorsport builds, and off-road vehicles.
What gets removed
A full removal covers the entire AdBlue and SCR system — tailored to your vehicle and application.
AdBlue tank
The AdBlue storage tank and all associated supply lines and fittings are removed and blanked off cleanly. Tank size and location varies by vehicle — we confirm scope before starting.
Pump & dosing injector
The AdBlue dosing pump and exhaust injector are removed along with the supply and return lines. The exhaust bung is blanked to prevent moisture ingress after removal.
NOx sensors
Upstream and downstream NOx sensors are removed. Sensor ports are capped correctly to maintain exhaust integrity. The ECU delete is adjusted to match the sensor configuration removed.
SCR catalyst (where specified)
Where required, the SCR catalyst section is removed and replaced with a suitable bypass section. This is agreed at the point of booking based on the vehicle and its application.
Wiring & pipework
All AdBlue wiring looms, connectors, and pipework tied to the removed components are stripped out and the remaining harness tidied. Nothing is left loose or abandoned in the engine bay.
ECU software delete
Every removal includes the matching ECU software delete — so the vehicle doesn't flag missing components or enter limp mode. Fault codes are cleared and the vehicle is tested before we sign off.
How the removal service works
Clear steps from first contact to a clean, tested vehicle — whether we come to you or you come to us.
- We confirm the scope. We discuss the vehicle, its application, and what needs to come out — including whether SCR catalyst removal is required — before any work is booked.
- We carry out the physical removal. All AdBlue components — tank, pump, injector, sensors, pipework, and wiring — are removed cleanly, with ports and blanks fitted correctly.
- We apply the ECU software delete. Using professional tuning tools, we remove the AdBlue and SCR system logic from the ECU, matched to the hardware removed from the vehicle.
- We clear all fault codes. Any stored AdBlue or SCR fault codes are cleared and the ECU is checked to confirm no remaining warnings or limp mode triggers.
- We confirm the vehicle runs cleanly. We start and run the vehicle, check for fault codes, and confirm everything is operating correctly before the job is signed off.
Who AdBlue removal is for
Full removal makes sense when the vehicle won't be on the road and a software-only delete isn't enough.
Agricultural & plant machinery
Tractors, telehandlers, excavators, and other agricultural or construction equipment that operate entirely off-road and where retaining unused AdBlue hardware adds unnecessary maintenance overhead.
Motorsport & track builds
Competition vehicles and track-only builds where every unused system and unnecessary weight is stripped. Full removal ensures no AdBlue components remain to cause issues during competition use.
Export & specialist applications
Vehicles being exported to markets where AdBlue requirements differ, or specialist off-road applications where a clean, component-free installation is the right outcome.

AdBlue removal — common questions
Quick answers before you book.
Is AdBlue removal legal for UK road use?
No. AdBlue removal is intended for agricultural, off-road, motorsport, and export vehicles and is not legal for use on UK public roads. Vehicles requiring AdBlue to meet emissions standards must retain a functioning system to pass a UK MOT. If your vehicle needs to remain road-legal, AdBlue repair is the right option.
What's the difference between AdBlue removal and a software delete?
A software delete removes the AdBlue and SCR logic from the ECU but leaves all the physical hardware — tank, pump, injector, sensors — on the vehicle. Full removal strips the hardware out entirely and pairs that with the ECU delete. Removal is the right choice when unused components need to come off the vehicle completely, such as on agricultural machinery or motorsport builds.
Do you carry out mobile visits for full removal?
Full system removal is typically carried out at our Hanley workshop, where we have the space and equipment for a proper strip-out. Mobile visits may be possible for certain vehicles — contact us with your vehicle details and location and we will confirm what's available.
How long does a full AdBlue removal take?
Most full removals are completed in 2–3 hours at our workshop. Timing depends on the vehicle, how much of the system needs to come out, and whether SCR catalyst work is included. We confirm the expected time when you book.
What vehicles do you carry out AdBlue removal on?
We work on a wide range of diesel vehicles and machinery — including vans, trucks, agricultural tractors, telehandlers, and off-road plant equipment. If you are unsure whether we can help with your vehicle, get in touch with the make, model, and year and we will confirm.
Do you remove the SCR catalyst as well?
SCR catalyst removal is available where it's required for the application — for example, on motorsport builds or where a full system clean-out is needed. This is agreed at the point of booking. Not every removal requires the catalyst to come out, and we will advise based on your vehicle and what you need.
