A Stage 2 remap is a custom ECU tune for a vehicle that already has supporting hardware upgrades fitted — typically an uprated induction kit, a bigger intercooler and a freer-flowing exhaust system. Those parts let the engine move more air, and the Stage 2 map is written to make the most of them safely. The result is a noticeable step up from Stage 1 in both power and the way the car pulls.

Which one is right?
Stage 1 suits a standard car and needs no parts. Stage 2 is for vehicles with supporting hardware and unlocks bigger gains. Not sure which you need? Tell us your setup and we will advise honestly.
Built around your mods
Stage 2 usually calls for uprated induction, intercooler and exhaust. We tune to what is actually fitted — we will never write a Stage 2 map your hardware cannot safely support.
How a Stage 2 remap works
A clear process from the moment you drop the vehicle at our Hanley workshop.
- Assess mods & health check. We confirm the supporting hardware and scan for faults so the map is built on a healthy, correctly-specced vehicle.
- Read & back up the ECU. Your original ECU file is read safely and backed up in full before any changes.
- Write the custom Stage 2 map. A map is built around your specific hardware for bigger, safe gains — never a generic file.
- Road test & confirm. We road-test the result and confirm strong, clean delivery before you collect.
Stage 1 vs Stage 2 — which is right?
A quick guide to choosing the right level for your vehicle.
Choose Stage 1
If your vehicle is standard with no performance hardware. You still get a strong, safe lift in BHP, torque and response — no parts required.
Choose Stage 2
If you have supporting upgrades fitted (induction, intercooler, exhaust). Stage 2 unlocks bigger gains by tuning around that hardware.
Not sure?
Tell us what your car is running and what you want from it. We will recommend the right route honestly — including whether Stage 1 is the smarter choice.

Quick answers before you book.
What is a Stage 2 remap?
A Stage 2 remap is a custom ECU tune for a vehicle that already has supporting hardware upgrades — typically uprated induction, intercooler and exhaust. The map is written to make the most of that hardware safely, giving a clear step up from Stage 1.
What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2?
Stage 1 is for a standard vehicle and needs no parts — it safely optimises the factory hardware. Stage 2 is for a vehicle with supporting upgrades fitted and unlocks bigger gains by tuning around that hardware. We will advise which suits your setup.
What hardware do I need for Stage 2?
It varies by vehicle, but Stage 2 usually calls for an uprated induction kit, a larger intercooler and a freer-flowing exhaust. We tune to what is actually fitted and will never write a map your hardware cannot safely support.
How much does a Stage 2 remap cost?
Cost depends on the vehicle, ECU type and the hardware fitted, so we give you a clear quote up front. Call or message us with your setup for a price.
Is a Stage 2 remap reliable?
With the correct supporting hardware and a properly written map, yes. We health-check first, stay within safe tolerances for your build and back up your original file so the tune can be reversed.
