What's the difference between on-vehicle and off-vehicle cleaning?
On-vehicle cleaning uses specialist fluid and a controlled regeneration to clear soot without removing the filter — ideal when the blockage is mostly soot. Off-vehicle cleaning removes the DPF for a deeper flush and flow test and is the most thorough option for filters with heavy ash build-up that regeneration alone can't shift. Will it clear my DPF warning light and fault codes?
In most cases, yes. Codes like P2002, P242F, P2452 and P244B are triggered by high differential pressure and failed regenerations. Once the filter is cleaned and airflow is restored, we clear the stored codes and confirm the warning light stays off on a test drive. If an underlying fault (sensor, EGR or injector) is driving the blockage, we flag it so it can be fixed and the light doesn't return.
Will DPF cleaning help me pass my MOT?
