How much does DPF cleaning cost?
DPF cleaning and regeneration cost a fraction of a replacement DPF, which can run to many hundreds or thousands of pounds. Your exact price depends on the vehicle and how blocked the filter is — we give you a clear, free quote up front.
Is cleaning cheaper than replacing a DPF?
Almost always, yes. A new DPF plus fitting is a major cost, whereas cleaning, regeneration or repair restores the filter you already have. We only recommend replacement when a filter is genuinely beyond saving.
What is DPF regeneration?
Regeneration is the process that burns off trapped soot at high temperature. When short journeys stop it completing, we can perform a forced regeneration to clear the filter and reset the system — often the quickest fix.
Will it pass my MOT after a DPF clean?
A blocked DPF is a common MOT failure on emissions and smoke. Because we clean and restore the original filter rather than removing it, your vehicle stays road-legal and is far more likely to pass first time.
On-vehicle or off-vehicle cleaning — which do I need?
Lightly to moderately sooted filters can be cleaned on the vehicle. Heavily ash-loaded filters need an off-vehicle deep clean with a flow test. We confirm which from the diagnostic readings.
Can I keep driving with a blocked DPF?
It is best not to. A blocked DPF raises backpressure and can damage the turbo, EGR and engine, on top of limp mode and an MOT failure. Get it looked at as soon as the light appears.
